{"id":14355,"date":"2026-07-16T13:46:36","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T06:46:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chemsocthai.org\/the-royal-society-of-chemistry-rsc\/"},"modified":"2026-07-16T13:48:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T06:48:09","slug":"the-royal-society-of-chemistry-rsc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chemsocthai.org\/en\/the-royal-society-of-chemistry-rsc\/","title":{"rendered":"Chemical Society of Thailand Holds Bilateral Meeting with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) in London, United Kingdom"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On <strong>6 July 2026<\/strong>, at <strong>Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, United Kingdom<\/strong>, the <strong>Chemical Society of Thailand under the Patronage of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana<\/strong> held a bilateral meeting with representatives of the <strong>Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)<\/strong> to discuss opportunities for strengthening academic collaboration between the two organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chemical Society of Thailand delegation was led by <strong>Professor Dr. Supawan Tantayanon<\/strong>, Director of the <strong>BBL\u2013CST Small-Scale Chemistry Programme<\/strong>, accompanied by <strong>Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Boonyuen<\/strong>, <strong>Assistant Professor Dr. Boonnak Sukhummek<\/strong>, <strong>Assistant Professor Dr. Duangruthai Sridaeng<\/strong>, and <strong>Dr. Sudkanueng Singto<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The delegation was warmly welcomed by representatives of the Royal Society of Chemistry, including <strong>Dr. Jamal Hassan<\/strong>, <strong>Professor Hemda Garelick<\/strong>, <strong>Ms. Diane<\/strong>, and <strong>Mr. Brian Li<\/strong>. The meeting provided an opportunity for both organizations to exchange views on strengthening future cooperation in chemistry education, research, and professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The discussions focused on two key areas:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1. Support for an RSC Award at the PACCON Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chemical Society of Thailand proposed that the Royal Society of Chemistry consider establishing an <strong>RSC Award<\/strong> to recognize outstanding research presented at the <strong>Pure and Applied Chemistry International Conference (PACCON)<\/strong>. The proposed award aims to encourage and inspire Thai students, researchers, and scientists to pursue research excellence and achieve international standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2. Membership Benefits for Members of the Chemical Society of Thailand<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Society also proposed that the RSC consider offering <strong>reduced membership subscription fees<\/strong> or other preferential membership benefits for members of the Chemical Society of Thailand. Such an initiative would enhance opportunities for Thai researchers, academics, and students to access the RSC&#8217;s global professional network, scientific publications, and chemistry resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding and cordial relationship between the Chemical Society of Thailand and the Royal Society of Chemistry. It also marked another significant milestone in expanding international collaboration in chemistry through academic exchange, research cooperation, and capacity building.
