From 13 to 16 July 2026, Professor Dr.Supawan Tantayanon, together with a delegation from the Chemical Society of Thailand under the Patronage of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, comprising Associate Professor Dr.Supakorn Boonyuen, Assistant Professor Dr. Boonnak Sukhummek, Assistant Professor Dr.Duangruthai Sridaeng, and Dr.Sudkanung Singto, attended the opening ceremony and various activities of the 28th International Conference on Chemistry Education (ICCE) and the 17th European Conference on Research in Chemical Education (ECRICE), held in Erzurum, Türkiye.
On 14 July 2026, the delegation conducted a workshop entitled “Small-Scale/Microscale Chemistry Workshop.” The workshop featured ten small-scale chemistry experiments: Electrochemical Separation of Copper, Interdiffusion of Gases, Acid Rain, Electrolysis of Water, pH Indicators, Titration of Acid and Base, Convection Currents, Voltaic Cell, Colorimeter, and Water Quality Parameters & Water Purification.
The workshop attracted considerable interest from conference participants. Representatives from several countries took part in the activities and exchanged experiences and perspectives on chemistry teaching and learning. The delegation also received invitations from representatives of several countries, including Bulgaria, Poland, Türkiye, and Taiwan, to conduct activities and share expertise in Small-Scale Chemistry at future international events. These invitations represent another important step in expanding Thailand’s international network of academic collaboration.
On 16 July 2026, Professor Dr.Supawan Tantayanon was honoured to serve as Chair for a lecture delivered by Professor Dr.Jorge G. Ibáñez entitled “Microscale/Small-Scale Electron-Exchange Experiments as Versatile Teaching Tools.” The lecture presented a range of approaches to applying microscale and small-scale chemistry experiments as versatile tools for enhancing chemistry education.
In addition, Associate Professor Dr.Supakorn Boonyuen delivered an oral presentation entitled “Revolutionizing Chemistry Education through Safe and Sustainable Low-Cost Hands-On Experiments at Thammasat University.” The presentation introduced an approach to conducting safe, environmentally friendly, and low-cost chemistry laboratory activities that promote hands-on learning.
The presentation received considerable interest from international participants, reflecting the important role and capabilities of Thai academics in advancing innovation in chemistry education at the international level.
